SALAMANCA — Pastor Al Edwards and the Salamanca Free Methodist Church will be leading the second annual National Night Out celebration on Tuesday, Aug. 6 from 5 to 8 p.m.
All activities will take place at the corner of Center and Washington streets on the west end of Salamanca.
While this is Salamanca’s second celebration, the National Night Out campaign is celebrating its 36th year. National Night Out is a “community-building campaign” to promote police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.
Activities for 2019’s celebration in Salamanca will include the opportunity to meet local police personnel and firefighters. Cleveland’s Yes FM will DJ the event and there will be prizes given away. Local police and fire departments will be represented, including the Salamanca Police Department; Salamanca Fire Department; Seneca Marshals; and the Kill Buck Fire Department.
National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Furthermore, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances. All residents are invited to come for an up-close and friendly visit with those who risk their lives to keep ours safe.
