After a 9-10 regular season, the Cattaraugus-Little Valley softball team earned the No. 3 seed in the Section 6 Class C-1 playoffs, which start Wednesday with the quarterfinal round.
Coach Heather Kagelmacher’s Timberwolves open the playoffs playing host to No. 6 Tapestry. Should the T-Wolves advance, they would play the winner of No. 2 Portville (12-6) vs. No. 7 Salamanca (0-13) in Tuesday’s semifinals, May 28. The Warriors visit the Panthers on Thursday.
Randolph (11-7) also earned a No. 3 seed on the other side of the bracket, playing No. 6 Westfield on Thursday in Randolph. Ellicottville (5-11) was seeded fifth and visits No. 4 Holland (4-10-1).
The championships for both the C-1 and C-2 brackets will be played at St. Bonaventure’s Joyce Field, as will the overall championships for Class C and D.
