ELLICOTTVILLE — A portrait workshop will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 28 in the community room at the Ellicottville Memorial Library, 6499 Maples Road.
Organizers said this workshop is for beginner and intermediate artists who are interested in learning more about techniques in drawing portraits. Techniques will include basic head and facial structure and facial features, as well as critical skills such as observing and recording accurately, determining value contrast to create a three dimensional quality, and understanding specific characteristics of the subject to create a reasonable likeness.
The workshop is $85 per person and includes all supplies except drawing boards. Space is limited and registration can be emailed to bfoxart@yahoo.com.
