Democratic candidates in the 23rd Congressional District and Rep. Tom Reed have filed their last campaign finance reports before Tuesday’s Democratic primary.
Reed, seeking his fifth term in Congress, has raised more than $2.4 million and has more than $1 million cash on hand — three times the amount reported by all five Democrats combined.
Dr. Linda Andrei of Ithaca reported receipts of $277,036, $170,000 of which were a personal loan to her campaign. She has spent $164,191 and has $112,845 cash on hand.
Tracy Mitrano of Penn Yan reported raising $171,448 including a $12,500 loan, and spending $112,587. She had $58,861 in cash on hand as of the June 6 reporting date.
Max Della Pia of Owego raised $164,227 including a $25,000 loan to his campaign. He spent $83,493 and had $80,734 in cash on hand as of June 6.
Ian Golden of Ithaca raised $114,861 and spent $87,735, leaving $27,126 cash on hand as of June 6.
Eddie Sundquist of Jamestown raised $111,605 including a $25,088 loan. He spent $109,319 and had $2,286 in cash on hand in the June 6 report.
Della Pia’s campaign staff said he leads the primary field in funds from small donor contributions, raising $57,946 from donations of $250 and less.
“The fact that our campaign raised more money in small-dollar donations than any other Democrat in the field is evidence of the kind of grassroots campaign Max can run in the general election,” said campaign manager Aubrey Stuber.
The five Democrats raised a combined total of $897,123 compared to $2,473,315 for Reed. The Reed campaign spent $1,385,528 and had $1,087,787 in cash on hand.
