Ellicottville senior center Elliot Bowen and Franklinville senior forward Sam Erickson each made the Class D All-New York State first team, Bowen for the third consecutive year, the New York State Sportswriters Association announced Monday.
Both Bowen and Erickson made the Times Herald’s Big 30 first team and Buffalo News’ All-Western New York third team in recent weeks. The 6-foot-6 Bowen averaged 19.7 points per game, 12.6 rebounds and 2.7 blocks and 6-foot-5 Erickson averaged 22.5 points, 11.5 boards and 6.5 assists.
For Ellicottville, seniors Griffin Chudy (16.6 ppg) made the seventh team and Austin Grinols was an honorable mention.
Also for Franklinville, seniors Isaac Kopp (15.2 ppg) made the fifth team and Darren Clark was an honorable menior.
In Class C, Randolph sophomore guard Tyler Hind (23.3 ppg) made the second team. Salamanca senior Hercules Rasha (17.2 ppg) also made the ninth team.
Chudy and Hind made All-WNY honorable mention.
The NYSSWA has yet to announce small school girls basketball all-state teams. Franklinville sophomore Danielle Haskell (26.1 points per game) made the All-WNY first team. Her sister, senior Allyson Haskell, made the third team.
Randolph freshman Sydney Hvizdzak and Ellicottville junior Linnea Jimerson were honorable mentions.
