LITTLE VALLEY — Little Valley Speedway officials have canceled the track’s May 28 opener, citing recent persistent rain, which rendered the track unworkable, and predictions for more rain in the afternoon and evening.

It is the latest in a string of cancellations that have plagued area speedways in what has been record rainfall in the region this May. Attention is now focused on Little Valley’s Friday, June 9, program, when the speedway will try again with the Super Spring Special sponsored by Coca-Cola, featuring the Super Late Models, Crate Late Models, E-Mods and RUSH Pro Mods.
